April 26, 2019 | Austin, Texas | Press Release

Governor Greg Abbott today delivered remarks at the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (HHCC) Annual Luncheon. The Governor thanked business and community leaders for their role in expanding economic opportunity in Texas, and discussed the need for property tax and school finance reform in order to create a even brighter future for the Lone Star State.

"The business leaders here today are proof of what happens when hard work, dedication, and innovation meet opportunity," said Governor Abbott. "If we hope to keep Texas a state of economic prosperity, then we must act now to reform our broken school finance system and provide property tax relief. By working together to tackle these challenges, we will keep Texas the most prosperous state in America."

The HHCC is the premier advocate for the economic and civic interests of the Hispanic business community in Houston. The HHCC's Annual Luncheon and Business Expo bring together more than 1,500 business leaders, elected officials, entrepreneurs, and job seekers for a day of networking and discussion.
