First Lady Cecilia Abbott Delivers Keynote Address At Bastrop Mayor’s Prayer Luncheon
First Lady Cecilia Abbott today delivered the keynote address at the annual Bastrop Mayor's Prayer Luncheon highlighting the community service of local ministries, non-profits, coalitions, and other members of Bastrop County Cares. In her remarks, the First Lady talked about the importance of volunteerism and service as well as her signature Texanthropy initiative.
“Texas truly is a state like no other, with so many individuals, organizations, and businesses who are willing to give their time, talent, and treasure to help their communities,” said First Lady Cecilia Abbott. "There is no force more powerful than Texans helping Texans, and we have seen that firsthand here in Bastrop. Thank you for your commitment to your community and for the incredible work you do each and every day."
The luncheon was hosted by the Bastrop Christian Ministerial Alliance, an association of local ministers, churches and ministries. Proceeds from the event benefit the Salvation Army Benevolence Fund.
