Production Program Manager – Austin, Texas
The Office of the Governor is looking for a Production Program Manager (Program Management Specialist I) to work in the Economic Development and Tourism Office (EDT) – Texas Film Commission (TFC).

The salary is $7,500.00 - $7,916.67 a month ($90,000.00 - $95,000.04 a year).

What You’ll Do
This position performs moderately complex (journey-level) program management specialist work, managing the TFC Production and Marketing programs and team. Work involves coordinating information between the TFC teams; fielding production inquiries; managing the location database; and facilitating all aspects of location scouts, including planning and coordination. Oversees production and marketing team programs and resources. Effectively represents Texas at trade shows, film festivals and industry events.
- Manages the Production and Marketing programs and team by defining goals, objectives, and controls.
- Manages communication and maintains a working relationship with industry professionals and stakeholder groups across the media production industry sectors.
- Manages and maintains the division’s internal database-driven location system.
- Compiles, coordinates, generates, and creates documentation/data from the TFC incentives, marketing and production teams, as well as with outside organizations.
- Performs extensive internet, on-location analysis, making appropriate location recommendations for specific film and television projects.
- Manages the Filming on State Property Program, as well as the Media Production Development Zone Program.
- Identifies program requirements and establishes methodology to measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Conducts scouts and photographs potential locations for specific film and television projects as necessary.
- Provides extensive guidance on Texas geography and resources to inquiring productions and constituents.
- Manages the DMV license plate library program. Responds to general production, legislative, and constituent inquiries.
- Represents the state/OOG/TFC at marketing events and location shoots. Demonstrates subject matter expertise, professional confidence and clarity when representing the office.
- Remains well-informed of EDT and OOG initiatives, policies, procedures, operations, new releases, web content, programs, and statewide trends.
- Recommends and implements improvements to increase program efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepares administrative reports and performs specialized projects.
How You’ll Qualify
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in program management relevant to the film, television, and/or digital media industries.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
You’re a Great Fit with
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in managing a large team or organization;
- Professional experience in film and television production including location scouting, marketing and/or producing; and
- Experience with Reel-Scout or other database platforms.
