Marketing & Creative Media Specialist – Austin, Texas
The Office of the Governor is looking for a Marketing & Creative Media Specialist (Marketing Specialist III) to work in the Texas Economic Development and Tourism Office (EDT).

The salary is $4,833.34 - $5,625.00 a month ($58,000.08 - $67,500.00 a year).

What You’ll Do
This position performs complex (journey-level) marketing and communications tasks, including graphics and multimedia design and production. Work involves coordinating marketing projects, designing creative media, including print and digital collateral, compiling and disseminating marketing research data, and crafting internal and external communications, among other various assignments.
- Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of marketing programs and promotional strategies.
- Assists in coordinating strategic marketing efforts, as assigned, for meetings, events, trade shows, webinars, special activities, conferences, travel, and seminars as required to fully support Business Development operations.
- Designs and produces print and digital marketing materials to help promote Texas as a business recruitment location.
- Designs and produces graphics and interactive media materials as part of a comprehensive marketing effort.
- Coordinates and collaborates with program staff in developing reports, overviews, snapshots, and other marketing collateral.
- Coordinates vendor communications to ensure maximum efficiency and quality of marketing materials.
- Maintains all design equipment including hardware and software necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements the design and delivery of statewide marketing campaigns utilizing digital and social media platforms.
- Fosters existing and creates new relationships with economic development partners including, but not limited to, Texas community partners, domestic and international consultants, site selectors, and/or media outlets.
- Implements content creation and maintenance for website and other promotional materials.
- Monitors the production of innovative research reports assessing specific Texas industries.
- Works with external partners to assist with business missions, special events, trade shows, information packets, presentations, and member communication.
- Drafts briefing documents for OOG staff, as requested.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
How You’ll Qualify
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Three (3) years of professional experience in a marketing-related field.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
You’re a Great Fit with
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in marketing, communications, business administration, political science, public affairs, or other relevant fields;
- Considerable skills in marketing, writing, advertising, branding, storytelling, and public relations;
- Skills in graphic design, creating marketing, and event materials (i.e., invitations, infographics, programs, agendas, flyers, social media graphics, etc.); and
- Experienced in creating content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube social media platforms.
