Compliance Analyst – Austin, Texas

The Office of the Governor is looking for a Compliance Analyst (Compliance Analyst I - II) to work in the Texas Workforce Investment Council.

The salary is $4,200.00 - $4,584.00 a month ($50,400.00 - $55,008.00 a year).

What You’ll Do

This is a job that performs routine to complex (journey-level) compliance analysis work to include desk regulatory compliance reviews on entities receiving economic development funds awarded by the OOG. Work involves reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating documentation, and policies, to ensure compliance with contracts, grants, agreements, laws, regulations, and internal policies.

  • Performs routine compliance reviews that are primarily small or medium in scale to determine compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Monitors contract performance by conducting desk reviews, and examines deliverables, performance metrics and specific eligibility determinations for compliance with terms of contract and agency policies.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates submitted documentation to determine eligibility of disbursements.
  • Identifies and documents issues regarding compliance with contracts, grants, agreements, regulations, or standards that require follow-up or research from various sources.
  • Assists with interpretation on questions of regulatory compliance with applicable state law and regulations.
  • Maintains and updates data in internal data tracking systems.
  • Maintains well-organized and accurate work papers.
  • Perform statistical sampling of data.
  • May assists with the development of policies, procedures and rules related to economic development programs.

How You’ll Qualify                                           

Compliance Analyst I

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, government, accounting, forensic accounting, criminal justice, or a related field; and
  • Six (6) months of experience in contract / grant management or monitoring; governmental regulatory compliance analysis or monitoring; or financial auditing work.


Compliance Analyst II

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, government, accounting, forensic accounting, criminal justice, or a related field; and
  • One (1) year of experience in contract / grant management or monitoring; governmental regulatory compliance analysis or monitoring; or financial auditing work.

Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. Salary and position level will be based on experience and demonstrated skills. 

You’re a Great Fit with

  • Experience administering and/or monitoring contracts or grants.
  • Experience utilizing Excel at an Intermediate level.
  • Experience utilizing Adobe Pro at an Intermediate level.
