Internship Program

The Office of the Governor is currently accepting summer intern applications until April 15, 2026.

The Office of the Governor (OOG) Internship program offers college students, recent graduates, and veterans valuable experience and exposure to state government by providing opportunities to work alongside OOG staff in a variety of different fields. As an OOG intern, you can help make a difference while learning about the different facets of state government. Primary Duties

  • Perform support work for division program areas
  • Provide project assistance
  • Conduct research as requested for various projects
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents
  • May research, compose, design, or edit agency publications, forms, manuals, and charts
  • Assist with special projects

Additional Details

OOG internships offer a hands-on experience and require onsite work during scheduled hours. Internship opportunities are located primarily within the Texas State Capitol Complex in Austin, and are on an unpaid basis. We are flexible on setting your scheduled hours/days (minimum 20 hours and maximum 40 hours per week).

Sessions:

  • Spring: January - May (applications due November 15)
  • Summer: June - August (applications due April 15)
  • Fall: September - December (applications due July 15)
