Governor Abbott Reappoints Brannan Commissioner Of Workers’ Compensation
Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Ryan Brannan Commissioner of Workers' Compensation at the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) for a term to expire February 1, 2019. TDI's Division of Workers' Compensation regulates the workers' compensation system in Texas, ensuring injured workers receive the necessary benefits to quickly return to work, and that workers' compensation costs are kept at a reasonable level for Texas employers.
Ryan Brannan of Austin has served as Commissioner of Workers' Compensation since August 2014. He is a member of the St. Mark's School of Texas Alumni Committee – Austin Chapter and the Austin Baptist Church Personnel Committee, and is a past member of the Southern Methodist University Young Alumni Board. Brannan received a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and a Master of Business Administration from the Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business.
