Governor Greg Abbott Appoints Campbell And Torn To Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board

Governor Greg Abbott appoints Cody Campbell and Sam Torn to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for terms set to expire on August 31, 2023 and August 31, 2025, respectively. The board provides leadership and coordination for the Texas higher education system.

Cody Campbell of Fort Worth is co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Double Eagle Energy Holdings and Double Eagle Development. He is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization Fort Worth Chapter and the Fort Worth Wildcatters and president of Double Eagle Charities. Campbell received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics and a Master of Science in Finance from Texas Tech University.

Sam Torn of Houston is the developer, owner, and operator of Incomparable Camp Ozark and the executive director of Camp War Eagle. He is a member of the American Camp Association and an emeritus member of the State Bar of Texas. He is chairman of Camp Ozark Foundation, founding chairman of Ozone Ministries, former member of the GAP Ministries Board of Directors, and past chairman of the Texas A&M University 12th Man Foundation. Torn received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University, Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law.
