Governor Abbott Names Chair And Appoints Long To Finance Commission of Texas

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Larry Long to the Finance Commission of Texas for a term set to expire on February 1, 2026. Additionally, the Governor named Phillip A. Holt as chair of the commission. The commission is the governing body of the state banking, savings and loan, and consumer credit agencies.

Larry Long of Dallas is owner and managing member of L2JL Capital, LLC and has a real estate license with the Texas Real Estate Commission. He is the former chairman and former member of the American Diabetes Association Board of Directors, former president and chairman of the Board of Directors at Texas Wall Systems, and former president of Oldcastle Building Envelope. Additionally, he is former treasurer of the Turtle Creek Association and a former member of the Seed of Effect Board of Advisors. Long received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Southern Methodist University.

Phillip A. Holt of Bonham is the vice president of Conn's Home Plus. Holt is a former member of the American Financial Services Association, National Installment Lenders Association and Texas Consumer Finance Association. He serves as a volunteer for the Fannin County Children’s Advocacy Center. He previously served as a board member for the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame Museum. Holt received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from The University of Texas Permian Basin.
