Governor Abbott Appoints Three To Family and Protective Services Council

Governor Abbott has appointed Tymothy Belseth and reappointed Julie Krawczyk and Enrique Mata to the Family and Protective Services Council for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031. The Council is charged with studying and making recommendations to the commissioner regarding the management and operation of the Department of Family and Protective Services.

Tymothy Belseth of Pflugerville is the program lead for The University of Texas (UT) Spark Program. He is a member of the FosterClub Board of Directors, Education Reach for Texans Board of Directors, and Change I Board of Directors and a training committee member for the Supreme Court of Texas – Children’s Commission. Belseth received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M University Kingsville and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Texas State University.

Julie Krawczyk of Garland is director of the Elder Financial Safety at The Senior Source. She is the president of the Adult Protective Services of Dallas Community Board and vice-president of the Texas Partners of Adult Protective Services state board. Krawczyk received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and English from Southern Vermont College and a Master of Arts in Management from Dallas Baptist University.

Enrique Mata of El Paso is executive director of the Paso del Norte Center at Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute. Mata previously worked as a senior program officer with Paso del Norte Health Foundation. Additionally, he is certified as an advanced public health nurse and advanced nurse executive by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Mata is a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and UT El Paso Alumni Association. He serves on the UT El Paso School of Nursing Advisory Board, and the El Paso Behavioral Health Consortium. Mata received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UT El Paso and a Master of Science in Public Health from Walden University.
