Governor Abbott Appoints Mayfield Judge Of The 190th Judicial District Court

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Debra Ibarra Mayfield as judge of the 190th Judicial District Court in Harris County for a term set to expire December 31, 2018, or until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified. Her appointment is effective November 1, 2017.

Debra Ibarra Mayfield of Houston is senior in-house counsel at Enterprise Products Partners L.P. in Harris County, she previously served as judge of the 165th Judicial District Court and of County Civil Court at Law Number One in Harris County. She is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, board member and past president of the Mexican American Bar Association of Houston and an advisory board member and past vice president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston. She is a trustee of the Houston Realty Business Coalition, and serves as a board member of the Association of Women Attorneys, Texas Executive Women and the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA). Additionally, she is a member of the Christian Legal Society Leadership Team and Houston Achievement Place Advisory Board. Mayfield received a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston.
