Governor Abbott Appoints Faubion To Advisory Committee To The Texas Board Of Criminal Justice On Offenders With Medical Or Mental Impairments
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Matthew Faubion, M.D. to the Advisory Committee to the Texas Board of Criminal Justice on Offenders with Medical or Mental Impairments for a term set to expire on February 1, 2023. The committee advises the board and the director of the Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical or Mental Impairments on matters related to offenders with medical or mental impairments and perform other duties imposed by the board.
Matt Faubion, M.D. of San Antonio is a forensic psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience. He has been a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and the Uniformed Services Branch of the American Psychiatric Association. Faubion received a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from Oklahoma State University and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed a psychiatry internship with Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base, a psychiatry residency at The combined University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and the Wilford Hall Medical Center, and a forensic psychiatry fellowship with the University of South Carolina. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force.
