Governor Abbott Appoints Davis Judge Of The 369th Judicial District Court

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Michael Davis as judge of the 369th Judicial District Court in Anderson, Cherokee and Leon Counties for a term set to expire December 31, 2018, or until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
 
Michael Davis of Palestine is an associate at The Law Offices of Jim Parsons. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and serves as vice-chairman of the Local Bar Services Committee. He is also a member of the Family Law Section, Litigation Section, and the Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Saw Section. Locally, he is president of the Anderson County Bar Association, chairman of the Palestine Zoning Board of Appeals, and member of the Palestine YMCA Board of Directors, Palestine Meals on Wheels Board of Directors, and The University of Texas at Tyler Palestine Campus Development Council. He also serves as president of the Rotary Club of Palestine. Davis received an Associate of Applied Science in criminal justice from Montgomery Community College in Montgomery, Maryland, a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and philosophy from Texas State University, and a Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law. Additionally, he served in the United States Air Force from 1995-2001.
