Governor Abbott Meets With Impacted Texans, First Responders In San Angelo

Governor Greg Abbott today received a briefing and held a press conference at the Spur Arena on Texas’ ongoing response to severe flooding that impacted Texas. Prior to the briefing and press conference, the Governor visited the local Disaster Recovery Center to meet with Texas families, first responders, and volunteers.

Governor Greg Abbott today updated his disaster declaration following recent catastrophic flooding across Texas to include Hamilton, Lampasas, Maverick, Sutton, and Uvalde counties, bringing the total to 26 counties. Additional counties may be added at a later date.

El Gobernador Greg Abbott solicitó hoy una declaración de desastre a la Administración Federal de Pequeños Negocios (SBA, por sus siglas en inglés) para los texanos afectados por el incendio en un complejo de apartamentos en Fort Worth el mes pasado. Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has received federal approval to allow Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients in 26 additional counties impacted by recent flooding to purchase hot foods and ready-to-eat meals with their benefits.

Governor Greg Abbott today announced up to $5 million in funding is available through the Texas Micro-Business Disaster Recovery (MBDR) Loan Program to facilitate loans from Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to micro-businesses in communities impacted by the recent catastrophic flooding where a local, state, or federal disaster has been declared.
