Texas Flood Recovery And Rebuild
The State of Texas continues to support recovery and rebuilding operations for Texans and communities impacted by recent severe flooding across the state.
Texans who sustained damage to their property due to rain and flooding are encouraged to report it through the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT).
Members of the public wishing to show their support and help their fellow Texans can donate through the Central Texas Flood Recovery Fund.

Support For Texas Businesses
The Texas Micro-Business Disaster Recovery (MBDR) Loan Program provides zero-interest loans to eligible Community Development Financial Institutions for purposes of making loans to qualifying micro-businesses with no more than 20 employees affected by declared disasters.

Support For Working Texans
Workers and self-employed individuals affected by declared disasters may be eligible for Disaster Unemployment Assistance benefits and can apply using one of the following methods:
- Online through Unemployment Benefit Services
- Call the Texas Workforce Commission at (800) 939-6631, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

Texans who got hurt or sick, including mental trauma injuries, from a work-related event that took place during the recent flooding can file a claim through the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC).

SNAP Benefits
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients in affected counties can apply for replacement benefits through August 12 for food lost or destroyed.
To request a benefit replacement, you should apply in person at a local benefits office by submitting Form H1855. If you are unable to visit a local office because of age, disability, or distance, you can send a form H1855 by mail or fax:
- Mail to Texas Health and Human Services, P.O. Box 149027, Austin, TX 78714-9027.
- Send a fax to 877-447-2839.
Funds should be placed on Lone Star Cards within two business days of receiving the request.
SNAP recipients that aren’t in the counties listed above must request a benefit replacement within 10 days of discovering their food was lost or destroyed because of the July floods.
Prescriptions
People affected by the flooding who are enrolled in Medicaid, the Children with Special Health Care Needs Services Program, and the Kidney Health Care Program can have pharmacies fill prescription refills early.
Authorized pharmacists in Texas can dispense up to a 30-day supply of medication (other than a Schedule II controlled substance) for patients affected in the counties of the disaster area.

For assistance, Texans can reach out to their local mental health authority or local behavioral health authority or call 988 in case of an emergency.
The Texas Department of Insurance helps Texans understand the insurance claims process and avoid scams after a disaster.
