Adoption Month 2021
Adoption is very near and dear to my heart and to our family. As adoptive parents, Greg and I have witnessed firsthand the life-changing power of bringing our beloved daughter, Audrey, into our lives through adoption. Adoption is a blessing not only for the child, but also for the parents who are welcoming a new member into their family.
Those who make the decision to adopt, as well as the numerous individuals, communities, and organizations who have made a difference in the lives of adoptive children, embody the compassion, warmth, and generosity that Texans are known for and proud of. But there are still over 100,000 children and youth in the United States who are waiting to be adopted into their forever families. That’s why this November—and every November—I’m celebrating Adoption Month, recognizing those who have opened their hearts and homes to children through adoption, as well as those who are dedicated to raising awareness about adoption and adoption services.
I hope you will join me and Greg in celebrating the families who have been made whole through adoption.
