The Office of the Governor is looking for a Programmer (Programmer IV) to work in the Information Services Division.

The salary is $9,666.67 - $9,924.25 a month ($116,000.04 - $119,091.00 a year).

What You’ll Do
This position performs advanced (senior-level) computer programming work. Work involves the development and maintenance of various database systems and ensuring the coordination and integration of systems design in accordance with ISD policies, procedures and operations. Plans, schedules, assigns and coordinates programming projects. Manages web environment design from concept to implementation, deployment, development, and all related maintenance activities. Administers efficient storage, retrieval, customization and archiving of data to ensure integrated database systems.
- Codes, tests, and debugs programs and prepares test data.
- Consults with staff members to schedule work and coordinate programming projects necessary to ensure efficient operations within online environments.
- Analyzes, reviews, and revises programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt new procedures.
- Prepares instructions for use during production runs and assists in preparing and developing instructions or manuals to guide end users.
- Develops and implements specialized programs to supplement and enhance systems software.
- Manages, implements, and maintains software solutions and systems integration projects to enhance Internet, Intranet, and external portal communities.
- Develops and maintains web applications.
- Tracks usage of system, confers with management, and advises on the status and progress of projects and processes.
- Analyzes, evaluates, and makes recommendations concerning existing information technology/systems processes and the development of new procedures, standards, tools, and techniques.
- Designs and implements new or revised methods that effectively meet the needs of the agency.
- Determines operational, technical, and support requirements for the operation and maintenance of databases, text, and graphics.
- Designs, analyzes, and maintains database structures, and assists in developing policies and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment.
- Performs database monitoring, implements efficiency improvements, and assists in modifying existing databases and database management systems.
- May oversees and/or performs work on programming projects including those that are highly complex in nature and/or large in scale.
- May work as a member of a team on joint software development projects, lead functional parts of said projects (testing, code review, coding specialty areas and/or peer programming) and collaborate as a co-lead or co-team member on group projects.
How You’ll Qualify
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in management information systems, computer science, data processing, programming, or a related field; and
- Three (3) years of professional programming/software development experience.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. Non-traditional work experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
