Governor Abbott Meets With President Of Toyota Motor Corporation
Governor Greg Abbott today hosted the President of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), Akio Toyoda, at the Governor’s mansion in Austin. The Governor and Mr. Toyoda discussed the successful partnership between Toyota and the State of Texas, in addition to strengthening their mutual economic success.
"Texas’ unparalleled business environment makes us a fitting home for a global powerhouse like Toyota Motor Corporation,” said Governor Abbott. “Toyota has seen firsthand the highly-skilled workforce in this state and has become such an impressive member of the Texas business community. I thank Mr. Toyoda for his visit to Texas and for his investment in the Lone Star State, and I look forward to expanding our productive partnership for many years to come.”
Toyota Motor Corporation recently opened its North America headquarters in Plano, TX, where they will employ more than 4,000 employees in their two million-square-foot facility.
