Governor Greg Abbott today visited six Texas cities in the Coastal Bend region that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey. During his visit, the Governor, accompanied by Commission to Rebuild Texas Commissioner John Sharp, met with Mayors, Legislators, County Judges, and other local officials in these impacted communities. During their meetings, the Governor and Commissioner Sharp discussed the ongoing recovery efforts and their continued commitment to helping these areas rebuild.

“Texas has proven strong, and our people, resilient, and I want them to rest assured that they are not alone in this recovery process,” said Governor Abbott. “I thank these local officials for everything they are doing to help their communities. Texas is committed to assisting them in every way possible as victims of this storm work to get their lives back on track. I assure them we are in this for the long haul.”

The Governor today visited the cities of Aransas Pass, Port Aransas, Rockport, Refugio, Port Lavaca, and Victoria. These are the first stops in a three day, 16 city tour of the Hurricane impacted areas of the Texas Gulf Coast.
