Governor Abbott Delivers Remarks At The Opportunity Austin Investor’s Lunch
Governor Greg Abbott today delivered remarks to business leaders and investors at the Opportunity Austin Investor's Lunch. The Governor’s speech centered on the Texas success story as he highlighted the pro-growth policies that have made the Lone Star State the global economic powerhouse it is today.
"CEO’s continually rank the Lone Star State the best state for business because we understand that when the private sector succeeds, Texas succeeds," said Governor Abbott. “That is why we have created an environment that keeps taxes low, ensures regulations are predictable and kept in check, and minimizes frivolous lawsuits through sensible litigation reform. This session we have an opportunity to do even more by reining in property taxes and reforming our school finance system, further incentivizing businesses and job creators to invest in Texas.”
Opportunity Austin is a economic development initiative aimed at fostering job-creating investment in the 5-county Central Texas region. Since the inception of Opportunity Austin, business and community leaders have supported and funded this regional economic development program within the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce.
