Governor Abbott Delivers Remarks At Texas Prayer Breakfast In Austin

April 29, 2019 | Austin, Texas | Press Release

Governor Greg Abbott today delivered remarks at the Texas Prayer Breakfast in Austin. The Governor discussed the role of prayer in his life, and encouraged the audience to draw strength from prayer when faced with their own challenges. Additionally, Governor Abbott presented a proclamation recognizing May 2nd as a Day of Prayer in the state of Texas.

"We look to God through prayer during times of sadness or need, but our faith and our prayers should not ebb and flow with the circumstances that surround our lives," said Governor Abbott. "When we feel like there is nothing in the world for us to lean on, you can turn to God and He will always be there for you. Whether in good times or bad, or whether we are asking for strength or thanking God for our many blessings, you can always find wisdom and peace through prayer."
