Governor Abbott Delivers Remarks At Texas Oil & Gas Association’s Annual Ad Valorem Tax Conference
Governor Greg Abbott today delivered remarks at the Texas Oil & Gas Association's (TXOGA) annual ad valorem tax conference in Austin. The Governor spoke about property tax reform, the important role that the oil and gas industry plays in growing Texas’ economy, and expanding the nation's international exports.
"Because of the contributions of oil and gas producers, the Lone Star State continues its dominance as the national leader in oil and gas production," said Governor Abbott. "The benefits of Texas' oil and gas industry extend far beyond our borders, and increased shipments of LNG have expanded our international export reach. By working together to rein in property taxes, we will ensure that our oil and gas industry continues to grow and prosper, and we will create an even brighter future for Texas."
Texas Oil & Gas Association is a statewide trade association with approximately 5,000 members representing every facet of the Texas oil and gas industry including small independents and major producers. Collectively, TXOGA members account for over 90 percent of all oil and natural gas produced in Texas, they operate a vast majority of the state’s pipeline mileage and gas processing capacity, and they are responsible for a preponderance of the state’s refining capacity.
