October 22, 2018 | Austin, Texas | Press Release

Governor Greg Abbott today announced that OKIN BPS, a.s. is opening its new U.S. headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. The new headquarters in San Antonio will create nearly 1,500 new jobs and nearly $23 million in capital investment. OKIN was founded in the Czech Republic in 2004 and specializes in providing business processes and services. A Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of $6,615,550 has been extended to OKIN BPS, a.s.

“As a leader in businesses process services, IT and telecommunications, OKIN BPS is among the fastest-growing service providers combining people, training and technology,” said Governor Abbott. “By opening its U.S. headquarters right here in San Antonio, OKIN BPS is undertaking its largest ever expansion effort and building its first office outside of Europe. I thank OKIN BPS for investing in Texas, and I am confident that this new partnership will take our state’s success to even greater heights.”

“After a two-year site selection journey, we are delighted to announce that our U.S. headquarters will be located in San Antonio, Texas. We attribute our success as a firm to the passion, ingenuity, and courage of the people we hire. We have determined that Texas, in particular, San Antonio, shares OKIN’s values with which we will together usher in continued growth. We would like to thank the State of Texas, City of San Antonio, Bexar County, San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, and Brooks Development Authority for their support and continued assistance throughout this process and are looking forward to being a positive member of the San Antonio community,” said Dan Smith, President and CEO, OKIN BPS, a.s.

“OKIN BPS choosing San Antonio as its U.S. headquarters is a testament to our city’s globally competitive future. We are building the right infrastructure, business friendly environment, and workforce that is attracting investment from the world’s most sought-after companies,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg, City of San Antonio.

“This project represents a real bullseye for our economic development strategy. OKIN BPS is foreign direct investment from a world-class company in a high tech industry for the North American headquarters creating 1,462 well-paying jobs on the Southside at Brooks, a former military installation. That’s pretty remarkable!” said Judge Nelson Wolff, Bexar County.

Under Governor Abbott’s leadership, the Texas Enterprise Fund helped to close the deal on 28 projects in 2015-2018 that committed over $849 million in new capital investments and more than 16,000 new direct jobs all across the state, from Amarillo to the Rio Grande Valley and communities in between. The TEF also serves as a jobs multiplier, supporting thousands more indirect jobs at existing local and small businesses. Administered by the Economic Development and Tourism Division within the Office of the Governor, the Texas Enterprise Fund helps to strengthen the state’s already diverse and growing economy and attract new jobs to communities across the state.
