The 2018 Governor’s Gallery
Yesterday I was thrilled to welcome the artists behind the 2018 Governor’s Gallery to the Texas Capitol for a reception in their honor. These works of art are created by Texas schoolchildren grades pre-k through senior in high school and are displayed in the Governor’s Business Office in the Capitol for a year.
The yearly tradition of the Governor’s Gallery was established in the 1990s and is coordinated by the Texas Art Education Association. This was my fourth year to select the items for the Gallery, and just like year’s past, I was blown away by the amazing works of art created by talented young Texans.
I had a wonderful time getting to meet the artists, their families, and their art teachers. Congratulations to all of the 2018 Governor’s Gallery artists:
