Energy Evolution

Texas powers America's economy.

Texas ingenuity and innovation fuels America's economic engine. Texas is the energy capital of the world thanks to an all-of-the-above and all-of-the-below energy strategy. Texas leads the nation in oil and gas production, wind-powered generation and utility-scale installed solar capacity. In fact, Texas produces more energy than the next three states combined, providing nearly one-fourth of all domestically produced energy in the U.S. The #2 state for LNG exports, Texas is also leading the future of energy innovation in hydrogen, carbon capture, battery storage and small modular nuclear.

Texas Advantages: Texas' geography and abundant natural resources, along with our highly skilled and growing workforce, central geographic location in North America and robust infrastructure providing direct access to domestic and international markets, give the state significant energy production advantages. Texas boasts the largest petrochemical workforce cluster in the nation; the Texas oil and gas industry alone directly and indirectly supports 1.4 million Texas jobs. As a top state today for engineering graduates and home to 16 Tier One research universities, the most in the nation, Texas is leading America's energy evolution.

Target industry clusters in the Energy Evolution sector include:

  • Electric Power Generation and Trasmission
  • Oil and Gas Extraction, Production and Transportation
  • Renewables
