Summer 1986 | The Summer 1986 edition of the FilmTexas newsletter announced to readers the suspension of publication for the foreseeable future. A message from the editorial staff on the front page read:
All of us at the Texas Film Commission have enjoyed bringing FilmTexas to you. We hope you agree it has provided much valuable information about the developing Texas film industry. We have been gratified that many film commissions with which we compete have praised and emulated this publication.
In spite of the publication's suspension, this edition of FilmTexas still managed to provide readers with information on several ongoing and upcoming Texas productions, including Texas Chainsaw Massacre II, Dallas and Robocop.
