December 1991 | In this draft letter to Oliver Stone, Governor Ann Richards sends her best wishes to the director ahead of the Texas premiere of JFK. While she was unable to attend the premiere, she recalls the footage she'd already seen and invites Mr. Stone back to Texas (like any good-hearted Texan would!).
Your support of the industry here in Texas is invaluable and I thank you. And although I understand your next project will be shot in Asia, we hope you'll return to Texas soon after. You're always welcome.
The Texas premiere of JFK took place on December 19, 1991. Proceeds benefited the Dallas Children's Health Project and Children's Health Fund (providing health care for homeless children and their families).
