Governor Abbott And The Texas Film Commission Invite Texans To Attend Veteran Writers Conference
AUSTIN - Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Film Commission invite Texas veterans and the general public to attend a Veteran Writers Conference on Oct. 26 and 27, at the Austin Central Library, co-hosted by the Austin Veteran Arts Festival (AVA Fest), Art Spark Texas, and the Texas Film Commission.
The free, two-day conference offers the opportunity to network with established writers and screenwriters, make new connections within the veteran writers community, and promote awareness of the healing process for veterans through creative outlets like screenwriting and media production.
Conference highlights include:
- A Conversation with Matt Cook, screenwriter, director, producer: Moderated by Stephanie Whallon, director of the Texas Film Commission — Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1:00 p.m.
- Free Screening and Panel Discussion of the National Geographic mini-series: "The Long Road Home," presented by the Texas Film Commission — Sunday, Oct. 27 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
