AFS and Republic.TV present REDucation

October 27, 2016

Via Austin Film Society:

Access to specialized RED camera products and RED-approved training was, until now, only available outside of Texas. Now, for the first time, through Republic.TV and AFS's partnership, you can get REDucated, right here in Austin! Republic.TV is committed to helping shooters develop hands-on, industry-specific skills through the REDucation program. Offering a fully immersive training environment, REDucation provides the on-set experience needed to feel confident when shooting with any of RED's professional cameras. This is real-world training taught by industry professionals.

REDucation is tailored for all skill levels, from students to working professionals. Join AFS for a full day of comprehensive RED Camera hands-on training, where class attendees will learn all about camera operation, the science of RED cameras, software, and workflow. There will be a classroom training session before attendees can head out for a field session, obtaining first-hand experience in shooting with RED cameras. Then, back to the classroom for a review session of your 4K footage on a big screen. Class attendees will also have exclusive access to RED camera discounts. Basic camera knowledge is required. Complimentary lunch and beverages provided.

Through their innovative partnership, Republic.TV and AFS will also offer discounts on RED camera products. After the workshop, REDucation class attendees will be eligible for discounts on the very products they're learning to master. Additionally, a share of income from each rental or purchase of a RED product made through Republic.TV will be donated to AFS. All inquiries about the AFS-exclusive discount offer can be directed to communications@austinfilm.org.

Basic camera knowledge is required. This class is limited to 12 students––get in quick! Lunch and beverages will be provided. Austin Public Producers must call Yolanda at 512.478.8600 x24 to receive the discount. The event is supported by the Capital City Black Film Festival, Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce and the Austin Area Urban League.
