About Indie Slate:
Indie Slate Film & Video Magazine, the fourteen-year old international trade publication, is frequently called the "indie production bible" -- the authoritative source of know-how and inspiration for independent makers and distributors of motion picture content for all forms of media. Following its mission to promote and support quality content creation and distribution, the Texas-based publication is now sold on newsstands in five countries and continues to grow.
As editors and publishers of Indie Slate, WIFT Corporate members Maureen Herzog and Dave Walker have vetted and interviewed over five hundred experts in all aspects of media production and distribution. They have tapped an array of knowledgeable contributing writers and have honed their own expertise by cultivating key contacts, attending numerous industry conferences, markets, festivals, trade shows and workshops, and serving as featured speakers or panelists. Through "Indie-U," the continuing education arm of Indie Slate, they have produced two 35mm short films and over 70 digital shorts, and provided hands-on production and business instruction to hundreds of students, as well as counseling those aspiring to careers in the industry.
