About the Event:

Calliope is very excited to announce that notable and leading regional U.S. casting director Toni Cobb-Brock will be teaching her acclaimed and popular training sessions in San Antonio on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: July 17,18, and 19, 2009.

Toni is the busiest casting director in Texas and in the Tri-State Region. Toni loves to develop ongoing relationships with actors who train with her and she truly remembers them when casting her many high profile projects. Actors who showcase with Toni in a workshop setting are regularly invited to audition for her!

Because of her decades of experience as an actress, director, talent agent, and caster, Toni provides actors with exceptional, cutting edge skills and techniques to take into the audition room.

Calliope encourages your participation in several of Toni's sessions, as they serve as a broad learning experience, exceptional resume credit, focus builder, and showcase opportunity. Calliope expects all of its talent to understand and value the importance and necessity of the training process. The goals of every talent should be to network, nurture relationships with industry professionals, increase bookings, improve skill level, build the resume, strive to be competitive within their market and demographic (as well as outside markets), and to stoke their passion. Training with Toni will lead you in this direction!

The fee for each session is $110. Toni normally charges $150 for a half day, but Calliope talent always receives a substantial discount. No other individual, group, or agency is given the same discount that Calliope actors receive. Cash, checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and out of earnings accepted. Deadline for payment arrangements is Friday, July 13, 2009.

Refund policy: Calliope's refund policy reflects the terms outlined by TWC. Calliope provides a refund to any person who: (1) completes at least 8 hours or one-half of the course, whichever is less, and is dissatisfied with the course; and who requests a refund in writing, providing a reasonable basis for their dissatisfaction no later than the 14th day after the course is concluded; or (2) for a course in which the instructor or the instructor's qualifications are different from the instructor or the instructor's stated qualifications, notifies the school before the course begins that they elect not to attend and requests a refund. Calliope will determine on a case-by-case basis whether the individual's basis for dissatisfaction is reasonable and credible.

Bio for Toni Cobb-Brock
Toni Cobb-Brock is one of the busiest veteran casting directors in Texas, and has become the most sought after caster in Louisiana, New Mexico, and beyond. Her most recent high profile projects are Breaking Bad, Crash, and In Plain Sight. Toni cast the Academy Award nominated film There Will Be Blood, and has wrapped the feature films Hurricane Season (starring Forrest Whittaker and Taranji P. Henson), 40 Love (in which three Calliope actors were cast), Mardi Gras (starring Carmen Electra), Love N' Dancing (starring Amy Smart, Billy Zane, Rachel Dratch, and Betty White),The Patriot (starring Forrest Whitaker), Tribute To Big Rick (in which three additional Calliope actors were cast), Friday Night Lights, The Ringer (starring Johnny Knoxville and Katherine Heigl), The Apostle, Varsity Blues, Prison Break, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Walker Texas Ranger, and Unsolved Mysteries, among many other notable films and TV shows.

Countless regional searches include Forrest Gump, The Sandlot, Frailty, Great Expectations, Leap of Faith, and Power Rangers. Toni has worked with many noteworthy directors, such as Robert Zemeckis, Brian Robbins, Robert Duvall, Barry Levinson, Peter Werner, Bill Paxton, Tom Huckabee, Ken Farmer, Simon Wincer, and Barry W. Blaustein.

Toni began her career as an actress. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre from Texas Tech University and performed in countless theatre productions. She also owned a talent agency in Dallas for many years before going into casting, directing, and teaching. Toni has been an acting instructor for Mercury Studios, The Dream Factory, STAGE, Celebrity Studios, Dallas Children's Theatre, Film Actor Lab, and Lubbock Community/Children's Theatre. She has also taught professional actor workshops for Texas Education Theatre Association, Southwest Theatre Conference, and American College Theatre Festival. Other teaching venues include Texas Tech University, Texas Wesleyan University, Wayland Baptist University, Texas Women's University, Texas Christian University, Brookhaven College, Tarrant County Junior College, and Sol Ross University.

Toni works with actors of all ages and skill levels. She teaches on-camera acting, commercial auditioning, film acting, improvisation, and auditioning techniques. Her experience in the entertainment, show business, and the talent industry has provided her with the distinct ability to train both experienced and emerging actors.
