Governor’s Commission For Women Seeks Nominations For Texas Women’s Hall Of Fame
The Texas Governor’s Commission for Women is now accepting nominations for the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame. Nominations are open to any native or current residents of Texas, living or deceased, who have made significant contributions that have benefited the state of Texas. Nominees can be musicians representing cultural arts; Texas vocalist and entertainer Vikki Carr was inducted into the 2018 Women's Hall of Fame.

On Thursday, November 7, 2019, Freddie Martinez Sr. - founder of Freddie Records and 6 time GRAMMY Award winner - will discuss his career as an artist, the history of Freddie Records and Tejano music at Bell Library in Corpus Christi, TX in honor of his record label's 50th anniversary celebration.
