Welcome to Eagle Pass, Texas, located on the border of the Rio Grande River only 55 miles south of Del Rio and 143 miles west of San Antonio, home to the historical Fort Duncan. It has two International Bridges across the United States-Mexican border from their Sister City of Piedras Negras and just outside city limits is the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino, the only casino in Texas.

- In Lone Star, Sheriff Sam Deeds (Chris Cooper) investigates the murder of one of his predecessors in the fictional town of Frontera. Filmed in the Texas border towns of Del Rio, Laredo, and primarily Eagle Pass, Lone Star is hailed as director John Sayles' masterpiece. It was praised for its accuracy in capturing the zeitgeist of the 90's as well as the culture of life on the Texas border at the time.
