TAMI is currently accepting applications for:

  • Development Associate (Part-Time/Paid)

  • Internships (Part-Time/Unpaid)

Development Associate

10-20 hours per week; salary will vary according to experience

The Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) seeks an innovative, creative, and experienced development professional to increase funding resources for this exceptional small to midsize statewide organization, with a national presence. The candidate will have the skills to assist in building out a fundraising program that includes both short- and long-term goals to increase giving from (1) individuals; (2) major donors; (3) both Texas and national foundations as well as (4) government agencies.  Experience with special events and planned giving is a plus. Implementing this broad-based fundraising model requires database experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM.

For the first six months of 2024, the highest priority for this position will be a focus on launching a robust database management system with the capacity to segment, code, identify, research, track, solicit, and engage 500 active donors, 25-50 major donors, 3000 supporters, hundreds of contributors to the collections, and thousands of social media followers.

Database management oversight and implementation will include working closely with the managing director and other senior staff to create systems for preserving data integrity, maintaining up-to-date records and contact information, developing practices and policies for the management of individuals as well as collections, and optimizing and assessing data to include the preparation of regular reports and dashboards. Planning for backup and recovery is also essential.

Fundraising Goals will include:

  • Individuals - Growing an active base of supporters who can make annual gifts in the $10-$250 range and 25-50 major donors and prospects, including board members. At least two unique campaigns will be designed each year, in addition to participation in ILHIGH. Campaign design, implementation, follow-up, and acknowledgment will be carefully planned and evaluated.
  • Foundations/Corporate Foundations - Identify, research, track, and solicit those foundations and corporate foundations whose funding priorities align with TAMI's needs and goals. Planning and managing a calendar of active relationships and solicitations as well as grants writing, editing and reporting, follow-up, and stewardship is required.
  • Support and Coordination - Working closely with the managing director, the development associate will assist with managing a portfolio of major donor prospects with the capacity to support at the $500-$25,000 level. A monthly goal of 1-2 substantive cultivation and engagement visits or site visits is desirable. Preparation includes research, briefing, and de-briefing.

Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of relevant fundraising experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing successful fundraising strategies
  • Advanced knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proactive and strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

To apply, please email a cover letter and resume to hr@texasarchive.org.
