September 1, 2022 | News | Newsletter | Press Release

August 2022

In August, Texas Music Office Director Brendon Anthony was asked to participate in an online panel on concert safety for the interns of the Universal Attractions Agency. The panel focused on concert safety in the past, present, and looking towards the future. The music industry is constantly changing and evolving, and with a new focus on safety at events, and the interns of UAA wanted to explore what concert safety means from an industry perspective and get that expert input. The UAA Interns also wanted explore logistics as to what makes a concert safe (from planning to post-event), the effects of the pandemic on safety, and where the industry is headed in terms of safety at concerts.

This panel consisted of experts in their field in concert safety, including:

David Mitchell - GM of Brooklyn Mirage/Avant Gardener
Jake Lawson - Head of Security (for a variety of artists, including Dave Chappelle, Khalid)
Brendon Anthony - Director of Texas Music Office
