Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the City of Pearland, having completed the multi-step training and certification process, has been designated a Film Friendly Texas community by the Texas Film Commission.
The Texas Film Commission is proud to be a Community Partner for made-in-Texas films for the 2018 Austin Film Festival. These projects shot in Texas, included Texas cast and crew, and may have utilized some of our resources and services.
As of September 1, 2018, Stephanie Whallon will serve as Director, and Lindsey Ashley will serve as Deputy Director.
This year, the fest included more than 20 features and shorts with Texas ties. The Texas Film Commission was proud to be a Community Partner for the Texas-made feature film THE IRON ORCHARD, which made its world premiere at the festival.

The collection, preserved by TAMI in partnership with Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, has been named to the National Film Registry, deemed “culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant.
The Texas Film Commission and City of Plainview are proud to present the 25th Anniversary Celebration of "Leap of Faith" (1992) in Plainview on Saturday, August 12th with director Richard Pearce in attendance!
The fest included the Texas Feature Competition, featuring films either shot in or relating to the Lone Star State.
