South by Southwest Film is a nine-day film festival and four-day independent film conference occurring every March. Past participants include Quentin Tarantino, John Carpenter, Janeane Garofalo, D.A. Pennebaker, John Sayles, Liz Smith, John Pierson, Steven Soderbergh, Rick Linklater, Dennis Hopper, Russell Crowe, Ethan Hawke and Kevin Smith. The Festival has premiered such favorites as HIGH FIDELITY, JOURNEYS WITH GEORGE, IN THE COMPANY OF MEN, DARK DAYS and SPELLBOUND.
