Texas Music Office Announces Salado Designated As Music Friendly Community
The Texas Music Office today announced that the Village of Salado, having completed the multi-step certification process, has been designated as a Music Friendly Community by the Texas Music Office (TMO). The Music Friendly Community program seeks to foster music business-related economic development in Texas cities and communities.
TMO Presents the LONE STAR SHOWCASE at Folk Alliance International
On Thursday, May 19, the Texas Music Office will host the Lone Star Showcase at the Folk Alliance International conference in Kansas City, MO featuring BettySoo, Natalie Price, Danny Schmidt, Giula Millanta, and Los Arcos Hermanos Pena. This is our first year back since the January 2020 conference in New Orleans. Additionally, to find out how you can get involved in Folk Alliance International, check out the Southwest Regional conference in Austin this September 21-25.
TMO Joins The Film Friendly Texas Forum on May 21
The Texas Music Office will join our sister office - the Texas Film Commission - at their upcoming FILM FRIENDLY TEXAS FORUM on May 20, at Southfork Ranch in Parker, TX. TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will host a panel on our Music Friendly Communities Program. Associate Vice President of Creative and Branding & Director of the Fort Worth Music Office Tom Martens is scheduled to join Adams on the panel discussion.
Governor Abbott’s Texas Task Force On Concert Safety Releases Final Report
Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Task Force on Concert Safety has released their final report which includes recommendations and strategies to ensure the safety of concertgoers in the Lone Star State. Governor Abbott launched the task force on November 10 in response to the tragedy at Astroworld Festival in Houston that killed 10 concertgoers and injured over 300. The task force is led by Texas Music Office Director Brendon Anthony and consists of safety experts, law enforcement, fire fighters, state agencies, music industry leaders, and others. The task force held several meetings and one-on-one discussions to analyze concert safety and develop ways to enhance security at live music events in Texas.
Wimberley to be Certified as a Music Friendly Community
On Friday, April 29, the Texas Music Office (TMO) will join City of Wimberley - and the Wimberley Valley Arts & Culture Alliance - to celebrate Wimberley becoming a TMO-certified Music Friendly Community. The Music Friendly Community program seeks to foster music business-related economic development in Texas cities and communities. The community celebration featuring live music and hosted by the City of Wimberley and the Texas Music Office is scheduled for April 29, at 6 pm at Blue Hole Regional Park. TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will present the Music Friendly Community designation to Mayor Gina Fulkerson.
Governor Abbott Announces Music Friendly Community Workshop In Harker Heights
Governor Greg Abbott today announced the Texas Music Office (TMO) and the City of Harker Heights will cohost a Music Friendly Community workshop on Thursday, April 21, at 5:30 pm. TMO Community Relations & Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will attend the workshop to explain the Music Friendly Community designation and answer questions.
TALA Attorney Gwendolyn Seale’s “What You Need To Know About Distributing, Administering, and Monetizing Your Music” Seminar
The TMO's Music Friendly Community partners at El Paso International Music Foundation are hosting Texas Accountants & Lawyers for the Arts (TALA) attorney Gwendolyn Seale for a free seminar covering digital distribution and publishing administration; comparing and contrasting the terms and features of the major aggregators in the music distribution and administration spaces (Youtube, TikTok, Instagram), and music more.
Bryan Certified as a Music Friendly Community
