Float Fest, the only festival in the world to combine the Texas tradition of floating the river and live music, is a summer music festival held since 2014. In 2018 Float Fest was featured in Spin as “You’ve never been to a festival like Central Texas’ Float Fest...which has managed to annually combine two of the great American summer activities—music festivals and lazy river floats.” Founded by Marcus Federman, the outdoor two-day music festival has found its permanent home in Gonzales, TX which allows the event to host over 20 thousand music fans each festival day, and offers camping and tubing amenities along the river. Float Fest has welcomed a wide range of national artists, including Weezer, Tame Impala, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Cage The Elephant, and more. Float Fest also organizes a river cleanup project, Keep the River Clean, which includes cleaning up the river before, during, and after the festival with divers and boats to ensure a safe and clean zone.
