The month of April is D’JAM! Dallas Jazz Appreciation Month (D’JAM) is a month-long celebration of jazz venues, artists, legends, and rising stars who call North Texas home. Since 2013, D’JAM has been held each April as part of the Smithsonian’s initiative, Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM), and presents various events celebrating jazz in the North Texas area. This year, D’JAM celebrates its 10-year anniversary with the first-ever FREE Jazz Stroll in the Dallas Arts District on April 29 from 1-7 PM, transforming Flora St. into “Jazz Alley” with jazz performances by local artists at 8 different venues throughout the afternoon. This inclusive, interactive, and accessible event welcomes all jazz lovers to take a stroll through the Dallas Arts District and enjoy the vibrant jazz scene Dallas has to offer. Try lunch or dinner at one of the nearby restaurants or attend early to enjoy some music before catching a performance at your favorite arts venue later in the evening.
