Athens Old Fiddlers is the longest running fiddle contest in Texas and the second oldest, continuous running fiddle contest in the country. Hosting fiddlers & fans from all over the United States since 1932. The Athens Courthouse square still turns into one big festival the third weekend in April. Over $6k in prizes, two street dances, food & craft vendors, car show, kiddie fair, 42 domino tourney and more. The fiddle contest will be on Saturday inside at the historic Texan Theater with live bands playing Main Stage on the square. As always Old Fiddlers is a FREE event. It’s truly a magical time.
