El Paso Community College's Music Department offers an Associate of Arts and Sciences. The program is designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the field of music and covers the first two years of the four-year bachelor's degree in music. Students planning to transfer to a four-year institution should check degree requirements of the institution to which they plan to transfer. The music major must complete a balanced program, including music theory, music literature, applied music and performance ensembles. The field of study is transferable to any public Texas institution of higher learning.
Performance opportunities include: Chorus, Concert Band, Orchestra, Mariachi, Guitar Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble
Performance facilities include the Forum at the Transmountain Campus (380 seats) and the Flex-Hall at the Valle Verde Campus (300 seats).
