The University of Dallas is a small private Catholic university that provides a music program which is an extension of the University's strong focus in philosophy and the arts. Music courses include Music of the Western World, Music Theory, History of Opera and private instruction in voice, piano, violin and other instruments. Currently there are no music degrees offered. Currently the University offers a concentration or minor in music.
Performance opportunities include the Chamber Ensemble and a number of choral groups which are open for campus-wide participation. Colleqium Cantorum, a liturgical choir founded in Fall 1993, has earned local as well as international recognition for its presentation of Renaissance polyphony in masses and other liturgical services.
