Texas Book Festival Unveils 2024 Author Lineup
(Austin, Texas) - The Texas Book Festival (TBF), set for November 16-17, 2024, has revealed its full lineup for this year’s event, featuring a diverse array of critically acclaimed national and Texas-based writers. The State Capitol and Congress Avenue will once again serve as the backdrop, as the Festival welcomes book lovers from across Texas to celebrate literature through conversations that inspire imagination, empathy, and joy.

While Festival attendance is always free of charge, there will be two ticketed events for headlining authors Malcolm Gladwell and Matthew McConaughey. Gladwell’s session will feature the bestselling author in a Q&A highlighting his forthcoming book, Revenge of the Tipping Point, at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at First Baptist Church, 9th and Trinity Streets. McConaughey’s session will celebrate the paperback release of Greenlights, which includes a new afterword, with the Academy Award-winner in conversation with celebrated director Richard Linklater at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, also at First Baptist Church. “This year’s Festival Weekend will feature a diverse ensemble of literary voices to engage readers of all ages,” said TBF Literary Director Hannah Gabel. “Attendees can expect lively conversations with high-profile creators, author signings, storytimes and interactive family-friendly activities, teen-focused programming, cooking demonstrations, poetry readings, discussions about timely issues, as well as bilingual sessions in English and Spanish. We believe that reading and access to literature is essential, so we’re proud to present a Festival that includes something for everyone.”
This year’s event begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, and at 11 a.m. on Nov. 17. Festival goers will have an opportunity to participate in author readings, panel discussions, and signings as part of the weekend’s events. There will be exhibitor booths, food vendors, and an array of family activities. Public transportation is strongly encouraged.
