TMO Presents the LONE STAR SHOWCASE at Folk Alliance International
On Thursday, May 19, the Texas Music Office will host the Lone Star Showcase at the Folk Alliance International conference in Kansas City, MO featuring BettySoo, Natalie Price, Danny Schmidt, Giula Millanta, and Los Arcos Hermanos Pena. This is our first year back since the January 2020 conference in New Orleans.
Additionally, a regional version of the Folk Alliance Conference takes place each year in Austin at the Southwest Regional Folk Alliance conference this September 21-25.
Submissions for official showcases at the Southwest Regional Folk Alliance conference (which takes place at the Holiday Inn – Midtown in Austin) opened May 1, 2022. The deadline to enter a submission is July 1, 2022.
Folk Alliance International (FAI) was founded in 1989 to connect folk music leaders aiming to sustain the community and genre. The leading international voice for folk music, FAI is an arts nonprofit and NEA designated National Arts Service Organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. FAI is also a member of the Alliance of Performing Arts Conferences (APAC) and the Performing Arts Alliance (PAA).
