Fort Worth Recognized as “Music Friendly Community” and other TMO community outreach
TMO outreach in the music community around the state – and around the United States – continued throughout September as the office traveled to Americana Fest in Nashville to join the Kessler Theater in presenting a Texas music showcase featuring the Texas Gentlemen.
TMO Director Brendon Anthony traveled to Fort Worth to announce the Fort Worth music community as an official “music friendly community” as designated by the Texas Music Office’s new program. Look for additional Texas cities to receive the designation within the upcoming months.
On September 28, Anthony traveled to Carthage, TX to be an awards presenter at the annual Texas Country Music Awards at the Carthage Civic Center. Also on September 28, TMO Programs Manager Steve Ray joined, representatives from HAAM, TALA, and the ATX Music Office on a panel discussion at the Southwest Regional Folk Alliance about industry resources for artists.
Later that afternoon on September 28, TMO Marketing Coordinator Marc Fort moderated the ATX Music Office’s Record Producer’s Sector Summit at the City of Austin’s Entrepreneur Center, working up best practices and economic development ideas for Central Texas record producers, as well as for the music industry at large.
