Governor Abbott Appoints Roy To TexNet Technical Advisory Committee
Governor Greg Abbott appointed Baishali Roy, Ph.D. to the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee for a term to expire at the pleasure of the Governor. The Committee advises the Bureau of Economic Geology on the use of funding, including the TexNet Seismic Monitoring Program and collaborative research relationships with other universities in Texas, and on the preparation of a status report to the Governor and Legislature.
Baishali Roy, Ph.D. of Katy is a global geophysical advisor at ConocoPhillips. She is a life member of the Society of Exploration Geophysics, an honorary member of the Geophysical Society of Houston, and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, where she serves as the Fiber Optics Committee Director. Roy received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Geophysics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and a Doctor of Philosophy in Geophysics from Western University.
