The Buggy Barn Museum is dedicated to providing a unique educational opportunity to travel back in history. Expansion of the museum's buggy and prop collection and promoting the preservation of the modes of horse drawn transportation in history are of the museums primary goals. There are over 140 unique buggies, carriages, and wagons with no two the same! Dating from the 1860s-1900s, you'll be sure to step back in time!

Films Featured

  • True Grit (2010)
    • The Buggy Barn Museum and props have been used in several Texas productions. In the Oscar-winning 2010 remake of True Grit, Buggy Barn is introduced in the beginning of the film as Fort Smith, Arkansas, where Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld) arrives to collect her father’s body. Local extras can be seen around the town, riding in their horse drawn wagons that are all era-specific and lending true authenticity to the storytelling.
