With the beginning of the Fall Film Festival Season and the start of the State's new fiscal year, the Texas Film Commission is excited to embrace the next chapter. We're busy at work updating all of our records on the TFC website with the newest information to better meet your needs.
You'll want to be sure to visit our filmography, gameography and paid projects lists to learn more about what the industry has been up to in Texas over the past year, plus get reacquainted with the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program (TMIIIP) guidelines, finalized program rules and additional grant awards. McConaughey Immortalized in Austin
Did you hear? One of Texas' most cinematic native sons now has a theater named in his honor. 
On August 10, the Alamo Drafthouse Mueller in Austin officially became the Matthew McConaughey Cinema, in "celebration of the actor, producer, proud Texan, and all-around Austin icon whose work for three decades has kept audiences laughing, chest-thumping, crying, hook 'em horns-ing, and occasionally questioning the nature of existence and dimensional space-time."
Congrats Matthew! It's alright, alright, alright by us.

On the Road Again With the TFC
We've been shaking the dust off our boots and hitting the road these past few months, attending festivals, hosting workshops, participating in conferences and more. Here's where you might have seen us:
- Leigh Davis and Taehee Kim made their way up to Waco to take part in the Waco Indie Film Festival
- Alexander Payne and Sophia Santos traveled to El Paso to participate in the Plaza Classic Film Festival
- Michelle Habecker and Willita Mahone presented information on the TFC and hosted a Film Friendly Texas workshop at the Houston-Galveston Area Council's "Lights, Camera, Action!" Film Conference in Galveston. Michelle also made her way out to Arlington to be a part of the recent North Texas Film Friendly Mixer.
- Matt Miller hosted a Digital Media Friendly Texas workshop in Dallas and attended the Texas Association for Strategic Solutions and Collaboration in Computing (TASSCC) Annual Conference in Grapevine.
- Ali Nichols and Steven McCaig took a road trip up to Midlothian to visit the set of The Chosen as they continue filming the seventh season of the hit show.
We'll soon be attending Gotham Week's Project Market and the Toronto International Film Festival's Market in New York and Toronto, so keep an eye out if you're in attendance at either and make sure to say hi!

We've widened our aperture this time, bringing you recommendations from the TFC's Marketing and Incentives Departments as well as a longtime film festival partner and the director behind an exciting new Texas film.
