League City Designated Film Friendly Texas Certified Community
The Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office within the Office of the Governor today announced League City has been designated by the Texas Film Commission as a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community after completing the multi-step training and certification process.
“Congratulations to League City on joining more than 200 Film Friendly Texas Certified Communities,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “The Texas Film Commission partners with communities in every region of the state to market their unique appeal and attract new investments in media production. Through ongoing Film Friendly Texas training, communities are prepared to support media production, spurring on-site spending at local businesses and creating good-paying jobs for Texans.”
League City is now a Music Friendly Texas, Tourism Friendly Texas, and Film Friendly Texas Certified Community.
“League City has so much to offer, and this designation gives us another chance to shine,” said Representative Greg Bonnen. “From our authentic Texas character to our scenic views and vibrant energy, we have the unique charm to bring any production to life. I am proud of our local leaders and tourism partners for opening doors for our residents and businesses in the film industry. It is my honor to represent a community that always finds new ways to share why League City is such a great place to call home.”
“League City continues to prove that it is a great place to live, work, visit, and do business,” said Representative Dennis Paul. “Becoming a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community adds another tool to help attract new investment, support local businesses, and create opportunities for our residents. I’m proud to congratulate League City on earning the Triple Crown of Music Friendly, Tourism Friendly, and Film Friendly Texas designations.”
“We are proud to join a growing network of communities that welcome film and television production and the investment, creativity, and jobs that come with it,” said League City Mayor Nick Long. “From the majestic oaks that canopy the City’s historic district to our beautiful parks and unique public spaces, League City offers a diverse range of locations that can help bring stories to life. We look forward to showcasing our city to new audiences while creating additional opportunities for our local businesses, residents, and economy.”
More than 200 Film Friendly Texas Certified Communities across the state receive ongoing training and guidance from the Texas Film Commission on media industry standards, best practices, and how to effectively accommodate on-location filming activity in their community.
